One of the most historic wine estates in Paarl, since 1692
Klein Parys is one of the most historic wine estates in Paarl. In 1692, Governor Willem Adriaan van der Stel granted this magnificent land to the Le Roux family, French Huguenots who had fled religious persecution in Europe and carried their love of wine to the southern tip of Africa.
The estate covers 56 hectares in the heart of the Cape Winelands, just 60 kilometres from Cape Town. It sits along the Berg River, beneath the Paarl Mountains, in a landscape that has scarcely changed in more than three centuries.
Personal care, passion and commitment embrace our wines, inviting our clients and consumers as partners and friends in this beautiful dream.
Kosie Möller, Director and WinemakerIn June 2002, Kosie Möller and his family acquired Klein Parys and set about restoring it to its rightful place among the Cape’s great estates. What they have built here is not simply a wine farm. It is a living piece of South African history.
Hand-picked from specially selected vineyards and crafted with the artistry of a lifetime. Our Estate Collection captures the character of this land, while the Family Collection — the Beatrix, Niclas and Jacob Selections — represents the pinnacle of what Klein Parys produces. Named after the Möller family, these are wines made to be remembered.
Widely regarded as South Africa’s most decorated winemaker, Kosie Möller holds a BSc in Agriculture from the University of Stellenbosch, graduating in 1991 with specialisations in oenology, viticulture and chemistry.
He spent years travelling to celebrated wineries across Europe and the Americas before returning to South Africa to forge a style entirely his own. Since 1994, he has been the country’s most consistently awarded winemaker.
When Kosie and his family acquired Klein Parys in 2002, they inherited not just land, but a sacred responsibility to honour its three centuries of history. That responsibility drives every decision in the cellar and every row in the vineyard.

The Oppiestoep Restaurant is a beloved institution at Klein Parys Vineyards, with a warmth and character that has drawn visitors from across the country. The series became a national favourite, and with it, so did the restaurant.
Today this 160-seat restaurant is one of Paarl’s most treasured dining destinations. Positioned inside the winery itself, guests dine looking out over wine tanks and barrels, a view that very few restaurants in the world can offer.

Plan Your VisitLight alluvial soils along the Berg River nurture Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay with precision and freshness. Richer Hutton and Clovelly soils further inland lend power and structure to Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.
Every grape at Klein Parys is selected by hand. No machine can replicate the judgement of an experienced picker at harvest, and this care translates directly into the quality of every wine we produce.
The famous Berg River runs along the boundary of Klein Parys for a full mile, moderating temperatures and feeding the alluvial soils that give our white wines their characteristic freshness and precision.
Warm, sunny days give way to cool and crisp nights, the ideal rhythm for developing complex flavour while retaining natural acidity. Annual rainfall of 600 to 800 millimetres keeps irrigation to a minimum.
